The objectives of this SepDIC website are to:
- Learn about the physiology of coagulation, the causes of disease and the best practice guidelines for sepsis
- Evaluate, through use of the classification SepDIC calculator, sepsis risk and prognosis
- Review the rationale for best practice care using the Surviving Sepsis Campaign guidelines
- Review treatment modalities and rationale

Instructions
The SepDIC knowledge resource presents 5 sections of educational material regarding sepsis, including the SepDIC risk and prognosis calculator which can be found within the Sepsis-related Coagulopathies section. These sections are followed by a dedicated section on the 2008 Surviving Sepsis Campaign guidelines, an active discussion forum and a page of useful links to other websites. The resource will function like any website, with menus and sub-menus and downloadable files. For learning purposes we propose moving through the site in a linear fashion.
Registering on the SepDIC knowledge resource
- Please click on register at the top left of the homepage the first time you visit the site
- You will be taken to a separate window to register your details
- Please fill in all statutory fields
- You will then be taken to the welcome page
- Note: registration details will not be passed onto third parties and will remain confidential. Your registration details will only be used for validating your log-in details

- Use the menu on the left to move to a specific section
- Or click on the previous, next icons to progress through the site
Completing the learning sections
- Each section is split into chapters
- The diagrams and tables can be enlarged and copied
- Resources such as the calculator and guidelines can be downloaded
